OOOPS!

So two weeks ago I made a "safe"dinner very quick- I was alone with the kids. It had nothing that should have caused a reaction but at the end of the meal when I wiped her off I noticed her face was turning red- everywhere the food had touched. Then she got white spots on top- not cool. I gave her benadryl right away and it didn't seem to get any worse- but how scary.

All I can think of is there was residue on the pan or something on the spoon or an additional allergy. Not fun times. So now she has her own set of pans and spoons. But the whole thing is just scary. How do we eat without hurting her.

Now we have an appointment on Monday with the allergist we'll see how it goes and what is figured out.

I have discovered a good recipe for her- it's a sticky rice.
1 1/2 c. brown rice
4 cups liquid- I use equal parts apple juice and water
2 apples or half a butternut or acorn squash
1/4 c butter

Melt butter in crockpot, coat rice. Then add in everything else- and cook for 4-6 hours on low. I also sprink in a little brown sugar. It's pretty tasty she eats it just in clumps on her tray. I like it with milk and raisins. This is an adaptation of breakfast Risotto from Make it Fast Cook it Slow.
